Abstract

  • The Consumer Tendency Index (ITK) for quarter IV-2018 in Bengkulu Province was 98.71. Describing that consumer perceptions of economic conditions in the fourth quarter of 2018 were pessimistic when compared to the previous quarter (index 98.03).
  • Pessimistic consumer perceptions of economic conditions are caused by declining household income (index 93.30). Meanwhile, the volume of consumption of goods / services (index 104.07) shows a positive direction and inflation has less influence on total household expenditure (index 104.65).
  • The ITK of Bengkulu Province in the first quarter of 2019 is estimated to be optimistic with an index value of 100.76. This indicates that consumer perceptions of economic conditions began to improve.
  • Consumer optimism in the first quarter of 2019 was influenced by the increase in estimates of household income (index 110.30). Meanwhile, the planned purchase of durable goods contracted (index 84.05).
