Abstract

In September 2019, Bengkulu City experienced an inflation of 0.64 percent. Based on monitoring by the Central Statistics Agency in 82 cities in Indonesia, 12 cities experienced inflation and 70 cities experienced deflation. The highest inflation occurred in Meulaboh by 0.91 percent and the lowest inflation in Watampone and Palopo by 0.01 percent. While the highest deflation occurred in Sibolga at 1.94 percent and the lowest occurred in Surabaya at 0.02 percent.
Bengkulu City inflation in September 2019 occurred in five expenditure groups, while two expenditure groups experienced deflation. The expenditure groups that experienced the highest inflation were the transportation, communication and financial services group with inflation of 2.47 percent, followed by the expenditure group of processed food, beverages, cigarettes and tobacco by 1.41 percent, clothing group by 0.85 percent, followed by the group Health expenditures by 0.58 percent, housing, water, electricity, gas and fuel expenditure group by 0.06 percent. While the expenditure groups that experienced deflation were the Foodstuffs expenditure group by 0.60 percent and the education, recreation and sports expenditure group by 0.05 percent.
With inflation of 0.64 percent in September 2019, the magnitude of calendar year inflation (inflation rate) is 3.15 percent, and annual inflation (year on year) is recorded at 3.40 percent.
