Abstract

  • In May 2019, the City of Bengkulu experienced an inflation of 1.11 percent. Based on the monitoring of the Central Statistics Agency in 82 cities in Indonesia, 81 cities experienced inflation and 1 city experienced deflation. The highest inflation occurred in Tual at 2.91 percent and the lowest inflation in Kediri by 0.05 percent. Deflation occurred in Merauke by -0.49 percent.
  • City of Bengkulu inflation in May 2019 occurred in all expenditure groups. The expenditure group that experienced the highest inflation was food expenditure group by 2.91 percent, followed by transportation, communication and financial services expenditure group at 1.53 percent, health expenditure group by 0.43 percent, processed food, beverage, cigarette and tobacco by 0.35 percent, clothing expenditure group by 0.19 percent, housing, water, electricity, gas and fuel group by 0.09 percent and education, recreation and sports expenditure group with inflation of 0.01 percent.
  • With inflation of 1.11 percent in May 2019, the inflation rate for the calendar year (inflation rate) was 2.03 percent, and annual inflation (year on year) was recorded at 2.74 percent.
