Abstract

In November 2019, Bengkulu City experienced a deflation of 0.27 percent. Based on the monitoring of the Central Statistics Agency in 82 cities in Indonesia, 57 cities experienced inflation and 25 cities experienced deflation. The highest inflation occurred in Manado at 3.30 percent and the lowest inflation in Malang at 0.01 percent. While the highest deflation occurred in Tanjung Pandan by 1.06 percent and the lowest occurred in Batam and Denpasar by 0.01 percent.
Deflation in Bengkulu City in November 2019 occurred in three expenditure groups, while four expenditure groups experienced inflation. The expenditure group that experienced the highest deflation was the food expenditure group with deflation of 1.41 percent, followed by the housing, water, electricity, gas and fuel expenditure group by 0.11 percent and the clothing expenditure group by 0.04 percent. While the expenditure groups that experienced the highest inflation were the processed food, beverages, cigarettes and tobacco expenditure group with inflation of 0.30 percent, followed by the transportation, communication and financial services group by 0.29 percent, the health expenditure group by 0.01 percent and the group education, recreation and sports expenses by 0.01 percent.
With deflation of 0.27 percent in November 2019, the magnitude of calendar year inflation (inflation rate) was 2.31 percent, and year-on-year inflation was recorded at 3.11 percent.
