Abstract

  • Human development in Bengkulu Province continues to progress marked by an increase in the Bengkulu Province Human Development Index (HDI), where the status of human development in Bengkulu Province in 2018 falls into the "high" category. In 2018, the Bengkulu Province HDI reached 70.64. This figure increased by 0.69 points or grew 0.99 percent compared to 2017 which amounted to 69.95.
  • During the period 2017 to 2018, the components forming the HDI also increased. Newborns have the opportunity to live up to 68.84 years, an increase of 0.25 years compared to the previous year. 7-year-old children have the opportunity to attend school for 13.58 years, an increase of 0.01 years compared to 2017. Meanwhile, residents aged 25 years and above have on average studied 8.61 years, increasing by 0 , 14 years compared to the previous year. Per capita expenditure (constant 2012 prices) has reached Rp. 10,162 million rupiah in 2018, an increase of Rp. 384 thousand rupiah compared to the previous year.
